Generate a Gemini API key
and activate AI features in Reachy

Setup, step by step

  1. Sign in to Google AI Studio. Go to aistudio.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
  2. Get an API key. Click "Get API key" in the left panel.
  3. Create the key. Click "Create API key" — in a new project, or pick an existing Google Cloud project — then copy it.
  4. Start on the free tier. The Gemini API includes a free tier with generous rate limits, so no billing setup is needed to start. Enable billing later only if you need higher limits.
  5. Activate the key in Reachy. Open Reachy → Configuration → "Edit Gemini Key", paste the key and click "Update key". AI features unlock immediately.

Gemini's free tier makes it the easiest way to test AI personalization before choosing your long-term provider — you can switch to GPT-5 or Claude anytime.
